Good forward work built pressure and territory, resulting in No.8 Ethan Styles charging over the line from 15 yards out. Extras were added by Jake Whittaker. The Carlisle hooker, Lawrence Wilson increased the score bulldozing under the defence from close range. Excellent work by Carlisle backs resulted in Nathan Greenhow going over for a third try before half time.

Carlisle dominated possession and territory in the second half with the back line creating space for Jon Kittoe and Theo Manihera to score before flanker Oli Lomas chipped in with a forward effort, converted by Jake Whittaker. Morpeth scored a consolation try through a rare break into Carlisle territory which was converted.

Special mention to the scrummaging by Carlisle's front row players, Sam Tunnicliff, Jay Nugent, Lawrence Wilson and Tarrin Wilson who only lost one scrum all match, including the oppositions put ins. The loose forwards Mason Steele, Ben Duddy, Sam Jackson, Oli & Ethan all put in a good shift with good driving runs. Equally, the backs led by full back Matthew White and Tom Hiscox and Guthrie swept up all efforts to clear by Morpeth, running the ball back with interest. Moments of inspiration were added by the interplay and offloading by Jake, Alex Barton, George Dudley, Theo and Nathan, along with a brilliant run by Sam Jackson from deep in Carlisle territory going round and through the majority of Morpeth players before offloading to Mason Steele, whose effort was unfortunately disallowed when he knocked on when reaching out to score with a few defenders in tow.

Despite the score line, Morpeth never gave up and deserve credit for their performance in the miserable weather.
